Relish in the first Critical Mass of the year with many magnificent bike lovers and end up in PoWWow's bike themed illuminated Eco Garden where you will be fed with cob oven cooked potatoes, blissful beer and wowed by a collection of local fire throwers. WOW!

PoWWow have teamed up with Sustrans' existing schools program adopting a whole school approach to creating vibrant and inspiring in-school murals to encourage kids to bike to school. Multiple sessions are carried out with each class so that every stage of the project allows maximum ownership for the children; from early design ideas to completion of the murals.

An action packed biking extravaganza beaming its way round Platt Fields Park. Free activities for ALL to get involved with; including Bike Polo/dancing, cycle confidence, bike treasure hunts around the park, races, cycle maintenance classes and of course-a huge bicycle mural painting going on all day. Nice healthy food stands and ethical shops will stand alongside other sustainable stands that will be present to help people enjoy a greener life. This day is part of the annual I Bike MCR festival.

'A big bike ride for little people' incorporates local primary schools and a mural painting on the Fallowfield Loop. In run up to the day, PoWWow will work with the children to create a painting that reflects their ideas and designs. Trained bicycle instructors and CRBd volunteers will bike with the mass of children to end up along The Fallowfield Loop to carry out the painting.

A pre-Critical Mass bicycle beautifying workshop; funk up your bike with dozens of other dreadfully amazing people and all celebrate together; bike over car culture!

As soon as the miraculous restoration is complete in early spring on the old Boathouse in Platt Fields Park, PoWWow are to carry out an all-building mural that will contain information about the facilities in the park, history of Platt Fields, the nature that exists in the park. The mural will also contain environmental help for people to reduce their carbon footprints. PoWWow will work with a diverse amount of local groups of varying social backgrounds in order to complete the project. We hope the mural will brighten up people's day, make them smile and share some local information with them.

MAPS stands for music, arts, poetry and stuff and the festival, which takes place in 14 venues around Manchester's Northern Quarter, showcases the creative talents of the locals for four days in May. PoWWow are working with schools from each district of Manchester to create carnival magic to parade over the weekend. We are also organizing public art trails and exhibitions within the local bars that will be created by the local community.

Come and find us in our Eco Garden at Platt Fields Park during the monumentous weekend of explosive street art, mass picnics, live music and hundreds of wonderful people gathered together to celebrate summer, food and community cohesion. Eat for free from our cob oven baked pizza and join in on live funk jams run by Primary Colours.

You will find us leaping-scooting-digging-planting-performing + creating around the park in various costumes whilst parading latest arty makings with a troop of kids. Workshops are free free free + we welcome kids from all walks of life to come and work as a team, make friends + explore their creative talents! It is advised to book your places (children aged 8-14) via The Lakeside Centre (0161 2242902) as sessions fill up! Morning workshops 10-12 and afternoon workshops 1.30-3.30

A huge project linking all the social groups and schools who work in close proximity to The Fallowfield Loop to re-construct the crumbling bridges that are scattered all the way along the cycle and footpath. We will create an educational painted trail beneath all the bridges, which in their current state play host to offensive and unattractive peeling graffiti. This project will be carried out in collaboration with Sustrans.

This is the time of year that PoWWow finally admit that it's time to move inside. We will curate a multi-medium exhibition showcasing local artists' work that will revolve around the brief; what's STILL nice about our world? Focusing on natural and urban environments that we are surrounded with, we will begin collecting submissions from September onwards.
